Festivities

Celebrates and parties are endless, every Saint is worth a party... Especially we mention the “Semana Santa” (week before Easter). The processions in the bigger cities are unique. But also the procession in Antequera is marvellous! Less “big” but therefore more “charming”: the procession on Eastern Sunday in Almogia.

Concurso de Trilla Harvest celebratation – beginning August X  
Festival de Verdiales this musical feast entails local groups of musicians, dancers and singers competing against other villages within the province of Malaga. This is the oldest and most respected of all the Verdiales competitions Beginning August 15 augustus
Feria de Almogía y de Vva de la Concepción Biggest festivity: see local calendar. This celebration of the patron of the village (the Virgin Mary) normally takes place around the 15th August. Concerts, parties and much decoration of the village start on the Friday and will continue with the "Routa de Tapas" on the Sunday afternoon The festivities culminate with the "Paella Popular" which is provided free to around 500 visitors on the final day of the “feria”.
